Savemom Featured in NASSCOM CoE

Savemom was once again recognised for pioneering change in India’s maternal healthcare scene in a strong post on CoeBlog titled “JioVio Healthcare: Delivers Personalised and Predictive Maternal Care Using AI, IoT, and Wearable Technology”.

The COVID-19 pandemic may have exacerbated healthcare issues, but it has also fuelled innovation. In this setting, JioVio Healthcare—an incubated firm at NASSCOM’s Centre of Excellence (CoE)—stood out by developing innovative, technology-based maternal health solutions that are still changing lives in remote parts of India.

Creating a Lifeline for Mothers and Newborns

Senthilkumar Murugesan and Dinesh Pandian founded JioVio Healthcare out of a strong desire to help moms in neglected communities. Many women in rural India experience pregnancy-related difficulties as a result of poverty, limited healthcare access, and a lack of prompt intervention. Recognising this, the founders launched Savemom, an IoT-based maternal healthcare service that aims to minimise maternal and newborn mortality.

Savemom is a comprehensive maternal care platform that uses smart devices and telemedicine to identify high-risk pregnancies early on and deliver continuous, personalized care throughout the pregnancy.

A Smart Solution: The Savemom Kit

The Savemom ecosystem consists of three basic devices:

  • Allowear, AlloTricorder, AlloBMI, and AlloBeat

These devices communicate easily with a mobile phone via Bluetooth. Data is captured, saved, and delivered to a doctor portal hosted in the cloud for real-time analytics. An AI-integrated online software further categorises expectant moms based on their risk level, allowing doctors and nurses to prioritise treatment.

The Savemom admin portal allows both patients and doctors to monitor health updates, which improves the doctor-patient connection and ensures quick intervention.

Numbers That Speak for Themselves

Operating from Madurai, JioVio Healthcare has made significant strides:

  • Delivered 22,856 home-based antenatal care visits
  • Identified 382 high-risk pregnancies
  • Facilitated 1,428 successful deliveries
  • Onboards 300+ mothers every month

Savemom has now been implemented in 52 communities, with support from the Maharashtra and Kerala Governments. The work was recognised globally, winning the NASSCOM Techngage Award and the ‘Gifted Citizen 2019’ Award at a CDI event sponsored by the Nobel Prize team in Mexico.

A Vision Led by Women, for Women

According to Senthil Kumar: “Since a woman can only understand the problems of another woman, we decided to bring proficient and enthusiastic women together to form a team that will ardently work towards delivering innovation to save lives.”

JioVio Healthcare, with its committed staff and mission-driven culture, continues to transform maternal health, making parenthood safer, smarter, and more empowering for families across India.
