Software engineer Mr. Senthil Kumar, a graduate of Anna University, initially developed a tool to track his sister’s health during pregnancy. He made sure her health was tracked remotely by linking cheap medical equipment with a straightforward communication system, which decreased the family’s concern and hospital stays. His achievement motivated him to assist additional Indian women.
Birth of Savemom
Mr. Senthil started the Savemom campaign and JioVio Healthcare after being inspired by his sister’s successful pregnancy. A small, wearable gadget that can track vital indications like Heart rate, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, and Oxygen levels was made possible by the invention. By uploading the gathered data to the cloud, physicians may monitor patient conditions and react to possible threats in real time and from a distance.
Expanding the Innovation
Beyond the core Savemom device, the team developed:
- Allowear/Allobaby: Jewelry-inspired wearable health trackers
- Allotricoder/AlloLab: Non-invasive portable health scanners
- AlloGate/AlloDoc: Contactless screening tools for public spaces
Each innovation addresses specific healthcare gaps in rural and underserved communities.
Strong Support and Widespread Impact
The HDFC CSR Grant assisted in the implementation of the solution throughout Tamil Nadu after the Dayananda Sagar Entrepreneurship Research and Business Incubation (DERBI) Foundation acknowledged SaveMom’s potential.
With operations in more than 100 villages, Savemom has helped over 36,400 women, performed over 3 lakh prenatal exams, and identified 7,320 High-Risk pregnancies for early medical attention.
A New Hope for Rural Communities
Holding a healthy newborn boy in a Wayanad tribal village was one of Mr. Senthil’s most poignant moments; it was an uncommon occurrence in the region, and the community rejoiced in a new life made possible by prompt care and technology.
