Savemom – Featured in The Better India #BestOf2024

A fresh generation of innovative entrepreneurs arose in 2024, all committed to advancing social change, strengthening communities, and revolutionising the medical field. Of these, Savemom was notable for being a trailblazer in the field of maternal healthcare, making sure that no mother is left behind because she cannot get medical treatment.

Savemom has been at the forefront of using technology to close the maternal healthcare gap, particularly in neglected and rural areas. We honoured to be included in The Better India’s #BestOf2024 list, which recognises our efforts to enhance maternal healthcare and ensure that millions of Indian women have safer pregnancies. This recognition encourages us to continue expanding and saving lives, one mother at a time.

Transforming Maternal Healthcare with Innovation

Senthil Kumar Murugesan started Savemom after seeing personally how urgently accessible and technologically enhanced maternal care was required. Millions of Indian women benefited from what started as a pledge to help a single family member and swiftly expanded into a national movement.

In contrast to 68.1% of women in metropolitan settings, just 54% of rural mothers have the recommended prenatal checkups. This difference has the potential to increase maternal mortality, cause pregnancy complications, and delay interventions. Savemom is tackling this dilemma hard, providing smart wearables, AI-powered risk identification, and remote pregnancy monitoring to ensure every woman receives the care she requires.

Impact at Scale

Savemom has had a huge impact since 2019:

Savemom’s remote maternal health solutions have impacted 30 lakh women in 14,328 communities across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Kerala.

During the 1,000-day initiative, almost 7,000 high-risk pregnancies got essential care, leading to safer deliveries and fewer complications. Real-time data allows healthcare workers to promptly address maternal health emergencies.

A Vision for the Future

This recognition from The Better India is more than just an accomplishment; it confirms Savemom’s mission to enable proactive, technology-driven, and accessible maternity healthcare. Savemom is committed to saving lives one mother at a time as it expands into additional underserved communities.
