Senthilkumar and his colleagues at JioVio Healthcare came up with the creative answer to this pressing problem: Savemom, a platform that expedites and digitises expectant moms’ access to healthcare. 

Engineering a Better Solution

Senthilkumar, an Engineer with a strong interest in healthcare innovation, developed a comprehensive platform that records, examines, and digitises the medical information of mothers. Simply snapping pictures of their health reports allows the Savemom program to process and analyse the data, saving mothers and healthcare professionals valuable time by removing the need for manual data entry.

Leveraging the Power of Vertex AI

Developing an AI model that could comprehend and analyse inputs in the form of text, images, audio, and video—a genuine multi-modal AI system—was one of the most difficult challenges. It would have taken two to three years for traditional machine learning models to be prepared for field testing.

But for Savemom, Vertex AI from Google Cloud changed everything.

In just one week, Senthilkumar and his team—many of whom were mid-level or novice Engineers without deep data science experience—created a proof-of-concept (POC) model using Vertex AI. The team was able to swiftly evaluate their concepts and get closer to real-world implementation because of the platform’s accessibility, scalability, and simple integration tools.

Gen AI: Accelerating the Future

The fact that Savemom was able to analyse data like magic thanks to Generative AI (Gen AI) techniques added to the momentum. Rapid analysis, structuring, and conversion of medical records into a JSON answer would facilitate their smooth incorporation into digital health records and speed up the provision of healthcare.
